Richard Lawrence Poces passed away peacefully at the age of 82 in Naperville, IL. Born on October 30, 1943, in Chicago, IL, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. Richard is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughters Felicia Samuelson and Melissa Poces, grandchildren Jordan, Samantha, Taylor, and Joshua, sister Rita Wodarski, and nephew Mark Wodarski. Preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, and nephew.

Richard's educational journey started at St. Rita High School, leading to Northern Illinois University. Throughout his professional life, he was known for his commitment to service, from working at Blistex to serving as a mail carrier. He brightened the days of seniors with his driving services and brought smiles with his kind demeanor.

A member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Richard enjoyed sports, umpiring softball, refereeing volleyball games, and supporting his favorite football teams and the Chicago White Sox. His fondest moments were spent with loved ones, as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth.

No public services will be held per the family's wishes. Richard's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him for his kindness and generosity.
