Three students from Manhattan School District 114 were recognized at the November Board of Education meeting for achieving perfect scores on Illinois state assessments taken in spring 2025. These assessments are administered to students in grades three through eight. According to district officials, Manhattan students consistently perform above the state average and are among the top performers in Will County.
The Board presented certificates to William Senesac, Bradley Usalis, and Sedem Fiagbey for their achievements. William Senesac, now a freshman at Lincoln-Way West, earned a perfect score on the eighth-grade English-Language Arts IAR assessment. Bradley Usalis, currently a sixth grader, received a perfect score on the Illinois Science Assessment. Sedem Fiagbey, now in fourth grade, achieved a perfect score on the third-grade English-Language Arts IAR assessment.
"Earning a perfect score on state testing is an exceptional achievement, representing not only mastery of academic standards but also the hard work and focus demonstrated throughout the school year," stated district representatives during the ceremony. "The Board congratulated these students and presented certificates in recognition of their success."
The district expressed appreciation for families, teachers, and staff who supported these students. "We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful to their families, teachers, and school staff who supported them along the way. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to all students and a reminder of the excellence possible within our district."
Manhattan School District 114 serves Will County and includes Anna McDonald Elementary School, Manhattan Junior High School, and Wilson Creek Elementary School (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
