At the June 17, 2025 meeting of the Manhattan School District Board of Education, Barbara Epps and Christopher Boswell were appointed to fill two vacant seats. These positions were left open following the 2025 election where no candidates ran for the available two-year term seats. The board had reviewed letters of interest and conducted interviews at a special meeting on June 2nd before making their decision. Both appointees have taken the Oath of Office and will serve for two years, effective immediately.
With these appointments, the Board of Education is now fully staffed and ready to support Dr. Aherne as he transitions into his new role as Superintendent starting July 1, 2025. The board aims to continue its commitment to supporting students, staff, and the community while ensuring schools meet community needs and provide quality education.
