Manhattan school district revises bus routes for improved efficiency

The Manhattan 114 school district has announced changes to its transportation system in collaboration with Lincoln-Way 210 Transportation. The adjustments, aimed at improving route efficiency, will introduce two additional buses serving all four schools in the district.

Superintendent Dr. Ron Pacheco expressed gratitude for the community's patience during this transition period. "Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked with Lincoln-Way 210 Transportation to resolve the timing of our bus routes," he stated.

Parents of K-8 students using LW210 buses are advised to review their child's updated transportation details on PowerSchool via a web browser before the new routes take effect on Tuesday, October 15th. Dr. Pacheco emphasized that while some routes remain unchanged, many have been modified.

Key instructions for parents include verifying the presence of bus route information, noting new pick-up and drop-off times effective October 15th, and becoming familiar with a new bus code system replacing numerical identifiers. "Numbers will no longer be used to identify any of the buses that serve MSD114," explained Dr. Pacheco.

No changes will occur regarding students' physical stop locations. Parents are encouraged to report any inaccuracies in their child's transportation information by Friday, October 11th.

The current bus schedule remains active through Friday, October 11th, with new routes commencing on October 15th. Acknowledging potential initial adjustments needed post-implementation, Dr. Pacheco said: "We hope for smooth, efficient bus routes soon after the changes are in place."
