Providence Catholic High School announces open house dates and expanded scholarships
Paul Houston, Principal | Providence Catholic High School

Providence Catholic High School is inviting prospective students and their families to an Open House on Saturday, November 16. The event will offer attendees the chance to meet teachers, coaches, and current students, and learn about the school’s academic programs, athletics, extracurricular activities, and faith-based environment.

Eighth-grade students interested in attending Providence Catholic can also register for the Placement Exam scheduled for December 6. Information and registration for both events are available at www.providencecatholic.org/admissions.

The school has announced that Merit and Legacy Scholarships will double in value for the coming year. Merit Scholarships are given to students who perform well on the Placement Exam. Legacy Scholarships are offered to those whose parents or grandparents graduated from Providence Catholic. Other scholarship opportunities are also available.

Highlighting recent student achievements, senior Michael Jensen achieved a perfect composite score of 36 on the ACT exam. This places him among less than one percent of test-takers nationwide. According to the school, “His accomplishment highlights the academic excellence and teacher dedication that define the Celtic experience.”

The Math Team at Providence Catholic has won seven consecutive regional championships and is preparing for another season of competition. Student-athletes have also received recognition this fall.

Senior wrestler Justus Heeg became the first Providence Catholic wrestler to win a national championship title at the Super 32 Tournament with his club team. Senior soccer player Lucas Garcia was named Chicago Catholic League Player of the Year and received the Tony Lawless Award, which honors athleticism, leadership, and sportsmanship. Cross country runner Aubrey Gentile placed first in the Frosh/Soph Division at Conference Championships.

“From perfect scores and championship titles to leadership awards, academic accolades, and scholarship opportunities, PCHS empowers students to grow in mind, body, and spirit in a safe, community experience,” according to a statement from Providence Catholic High School.
