Helen Elizabeth Lawson, 87, of Joliet, Remembered for Faith and Devotion to Family

Helen Elizabeth Lawson, age 87, passed away on April 7, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family. She is survived by her children Bob, Greg, Cathy, and Mike, grandchildren, sister Elaine Armstrong, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children David Lawson, siblings Marvin, Allen, and Mary.

A graduate of Minot High School in North Dakota, Helen worked as a phone operator, Certified Nursing Assistant, and secretary. Known for her spiritual nature, Helen was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church of Joliet, serving as a lector, sacristan, eucharistic minister, and Third Order Franciscan. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and puzzles, and was always ready to help her family in times of need.

Visitation for Helen will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, with prayers the next morning and Mass at St. Joseph’s Church. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery. Helen will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
