On Tuesday, April 22, the community will participate in "April Food Day," an initiative sponsored by United Way and CBS 2 TV Chicago. Organizers are calling for donations of specific items. Contributions can be brought to Door #4 or Door #14 at the school.
Requested donation items include unopened, non-expired goods without glass packaging. The list features 100% fruit and vegetable juices, bagged rice and beans (either canned or dry), canned fruits and vegetables (preferably with pull tops), as well as cereals, oatmeal, granola bars, chips, cookies, and crackers. Additionally, canned meats and stews, peanut butter and jelly, infant supplies such as baby food, formula, and diapers, and toiletries including soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and toothpaste are also encouraged.
Students who contribute will be given a pass for a Spirit Day Dress Down on April 25. Organizers emphasize generosity in supporting this cause.
Viewers are also advised to tune in to CBS Channel 2 news on April 22 to see coverage featuring students.
