The Providence Catholic Theatre Club is set to stage its spring production with a presentation of "The Little Mermaid." Performances are scheduled from April 3 to April 6, 2025, at the Bicentennial Theatre in Joliet. Tickets, priced at $15 plus fees, are available from March 10 and can be purchased online at provchs.booktix.com. Providence Catholic High School (PCHS) students are eligible to receive a free ticket to the show.
The club encourages participation from those interested in acting, dancing, singing, costume or lighting design, and stage construction. It is noted for being an active and enjoyable extracurricular group within Providence Catholic. Previous theatre productions have included well-known titles such as "Beauty & the Beast," "Little Shop of Horrors," and "Grease," among others.
Students interested in theatre have the opportunity to join the International Thespian Society (ITS), the Educational Theatre Association’s honorary organization. Admission is based on achievements within the school's theatre program. ITS features a system designed to recognize and motivate student accomplishments in both performance and technical areas of theatre production.
The Theatre Club highlights the variety of roles available for students, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the club for those passionate about theatre.
