On March 8th, the Lincoln-Way 210 Foundation for Education held its annual Dinner Gala at Odyssey Country Club. The event raised $73,000 for student grants and scholarships through auctions, raffles, and donations.

A notable auction item was a live-edge coffee table created by students from Lincoln-Way West's Woodworking 2 and Welding 3 classes. The walnut wood used for the table was provided at a discount by a former high school shop student who supported the cause.

Nick Schroder, a Career and Technical Education teacher at Lincoln-Way West, expressed his appreciation: “The Lincoln-Way Foundation has been extremely generous and supportive of the Career and Technical Education department during my seven years at Lincoln-Way. My first year in the district, they purchased new woodshop tables for us, which really gained my attention and appreciation for all that they do.”

Schroder added: “Our goal with this table project was to highlight just a few of the amazing things these young adults are capable of. Hopefully this project excited the community and can be something we do for years to come!”

The coffee table drew attention throughout the evening before being sold for $700. The event underscored both the foundation's support and the students' ability to apply their skills effectively.
