Manhattan School District 114 is preparing for the upcoming spring break with several updates and reminders for families. This Friday, March 28th, marks an Early Release Day, affecting all students in the district. Notably, Early Childhood and Preschool for All students will not attend school on this day. Parents are reminded that lunch will not be served during early release days, and they should notify the school of any changes to their child's transportation arrangements due to the adjusted schedule.
Spring parties organized by the K-5 PTO are scheduled at different times across various schools: Anna McDonald at 10:50 a.m., Manhattan Intermediate at 10:30 a.m., and Wilson Creek at 11:00 a.m.
Dismissal times on Early Release Day vary by school: Manhattan Junior High at 11:10 a.m., Manhattan Intermediate and Anna McDonald both at 11:50 a.m., and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m. The conclusion of these activities marks the start of spring break, with classes resuming on Monday, April 7th.
The district is also seeking feedback from its community through the 5Essentials Survey. Families are encouraged to complete this survey by Friday, March 28th for each school their child attends.
Looking ahead to the next academic year, early registration pricing ends on April 15th. Parents are urged to register their incoming Kindergarteners as well as returning students from grades one through eight promptly. Details can be found on the district's registration webpage.
Following spring break, safety drills will be conducted as part of routine protocol reviews. Schools within the district follow the Standard Response Protocol for emergencies such as fires, disasters, or intruders.
"Have a safe and relaxing spring break!" is the message from MSD114 as they prepare for this transitional period in their academic calendar.
