The Board of Education held its meeting on March 12, 2025, with the session video now available for public viewing. The meeting covered various topics including approval of the regular meeting dates and an adjusted school calendar for the 2025-2026 year.

Mrs. Kim Maher reported on several activities, highlighting a recognition event by the Illinois Association of School Boards Three Rivers Division at Manhattan Junior High School. She also mentioned a drill conducted by the Cardiac Emergency Response Team and a Cyber Safety discussion led by SRO Officer Rob Bernardy.

Mrs. Cheryl Donovan discussed recent testing activities, noting that ACCESS testing was completed in February and preparations are underway for Math and ELA Illinois Assessments of Readiness (IAR). She also spoke about the pilot program for enVisions Mathematics resource involving teachers and students.

Mrs. Julie Hantson shared details about a food drive organized by classrooms for the local Manhattan Food Pantry, which collected over 2,100 donations. Additionally, she announced an upcoming Student Services Community Night scheduled for April 23rd.

Carrie Rohe recounted Wilson Creek's Family Fun Night event that saw significant participation from families across the district. She noted fundraising efforts that raised substantial amounts for Wilson Creek.

Elise Kirk described Pack Pride Day activities and preparations for IAR testing among third graders. She also highlighted participation in Read Across America Week and the successful completion of their Read Bowl challenge.

Mr. Ryan McWilliams expressed gratitude to staff members supporting Character Challenges aligned with SEL curriculum. He acknowledged efforts made during e-Learning days and ongoing collaboration among teachers to enhance student learning experiences.

Mr. Vince Perillo detailed activities at MJHS including completion of the 5Essentials Survey and National Junior Honor Society projects. He outlined preparation steps taken for IAR Testing set to occur later this month.

Athletic updates included news on MJHS Bowling and Track & Field events as well as congratulations extended to Manhattan Wrestling team members advancing to State competitions.

In music-related news, performances by various bands received positive feedback during Step-Up Concerts under Mrs. Pedziwater's direction, with upcoming competitions anticipated soon.
