Providence Catholic High School has announced a schedule change for Wednesday, February 12, due to a predicted snowstorm. Principal Mr. Houston communicated the changes to the school community after monitoring weather forecasts predicting snowfall in New Lenox.
Mr. Houston stated, "I have been checking the weather throughout the day, and the most recent forecasts for New Lenox have one model predicting 1-3 inches of snow starting after 11 AM and the other predicting 3-4 inches of snow starting after 11:00 AM."
As a result, the school will implement Schedule B with an early release instead of a late start on Wednesday. The revised schedule includes Zero-Hour Theology and Zero-hour 8th grade Algebra 1 Honors from 7:05 a.m. to 7:50 a.m., followed by Periods 5 through 7 until dismissal at 12:25 p.m.
Mr. Houston also noted several important changes for the day: "There will be no food service tomorrow. All after-school activities are cancelled tomorrow." Additionally, buses will operate according to Schedule A pickup times and will depart ten minutes after dismissal.
The rest of the week's schedule has also been adjusted, with Thursday following Schedule C (Periods 1, 2, 4, and 3) and Friday returning to Schedule A (Periods 1-7).
Mr. Houston assured families that he would continue to monitor weather conditions overnight and make further adjustments if necessary.
