The Manhattan School District 114 has announced a special meeting of the Board of Education, scheduled for January 15, 2025. The meeting will take place at Manhattan Junior High located at 15414 Smith Rd., starting at 5:00 p.m.
The agenda for the meeting includes several key items. Following the call to order, there will be a roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance. The board will then open the floor for public comment.
A closed session is planned to discuss matters related to "appointment, employment, compensation, evaluation, performance and/or dismissal of specific employees," as well as issues involving independent contractors. Additionally, topics such as pending litigation, risk management, and collective bargaining will be addressed under relevant Illinois statutes (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), (11), (12), and (2)).
It has been stated that "no action will be taken" during this session. The meeting is expected to conclude with an adjournment.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., also at Manhattan Junior High School.
