James "Mike" Gallaway, 88, Remembered for Dedication to Family and Craft

James "Mike" Gallaway, age 88, of Braceville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Mike is survived by his children Mike, Tammy (Mark), Colleen (Vince), Patrick (Debbie), Sean (Vicki), and Timothy (Brenda), several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his brother Paul (Fran), nieces and nephews, and his loyal canine companions, Little Guy and Buddy.

Preceded in death by his parents Judith and David Gallaway, his wife June, son Martin, grandson Jonathan, and siblings Lawrence, Clara, and David, Mike was a dedicated member of the Carpenters Union Local #174 for 58 years. In retirement, he relocated to Arkansas to enjoy time with his family, fishing, and recreational river activities.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral service at 12:00 noon at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Manhattan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mike’s name to Lightways Hospice are appreciated.
