Helen Marie Dunne Dies at 79; Remembered for Love, Laughter

Manhattan, IL - Helen Marie Dunne, known for her kindness, infectious humor, and unwavering love, died peacefully on November 11, 2024, at the age of 79. She was born on May 3, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy (nee Schwarz) McTighe, her siblings James T. McTighe Jr., Patricia Rossiter, Kathleen Heinemann, and Margaret Beristain, her brother-in-law Gary Dunne, and her nieces and nephews Regina Jendreg, Ashley Grajek, Daniel Rossiter, Nicholas Tighe Beristain, and Thomas McTighe.

She is survived by her husband Philip Dunne Sr., children Philip (Cheryl) Dunne Jr., Bryant (Melissa) Dunne, Matthew (Jamie Lynn) Dunne, and Amanda (Michael) Shannon, grandchildren, siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen attended Oak Lawn High School and was an avid fan of baseball and the TV show "Seinfeld." She was described as loving, funny, and kind by those who knew her, with a deep faith in Jesus and a love for her family at the center of her life.

Visitation for Helen will be held on November 17, 2024, at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, with the funeral service on November 18, 2024. Interment will follow at Manhattan Center Cemetery. Helen's legacy of faith, family, and friendship will continue to shine through those she loved.
