The Lincoln-Way Marching Band (LWMB) organized a Community Showcase on November 2nd as part of the Tournament of Roses BandCares initiative. The event featured their Hollywood-themed field show, which will also be performed in California soon.
Attendees were asked to bring canned goods or other non-perishable items as an admission fee. These donations were collected by volunteers from the New Lenox Township Food Pantry and nearly filled an entire van.
The contributions are expected to have a significant impact on the community by providing food to those in need. Additionally, students from Life Skills classes at Central and West participated by sorting and organizing the donations.
"The LWMB is so thankful for all of the support that this school community has shown them this season," said a representative. They expressed pride in making such a meaningful donation to the New Lenox Township Food Pantry.
The LWMB will be performing at the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day.
