Board discusses superintendent search and personnel matters in special meeting

The Board of Education (BOE) held a special meeting on October 14, 2024. The meeting commenced at 6:45 PM with a roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance. Public comments were invited before moving to the main agenda.

A presentation was given by superintendent search firms to support the search for a new superintendent. Following this, the board entered a closed session under "Appointment, Employment, Compensation, Evaluation, Performance and/or Dismissal of Specific Employees and/or Specific Individuals Who Serve as Independent Contractors (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1))."

It was noted that action would be taken upon returning from the closed session. The action items included awarding a contract for a superintendent search consultant, approving new hires, resignations, terminations, leaves of absence, considering disciplinary actions against certified employees, and discussing agreements with certified employees.

The meeting concluded with an adjournment after addressing all agenda items.
